Alright, as some of you know im going to be getting a new bike fairly shortly ....well fairly immediatley as it happens. but that is dependant on whether i can ever actually make up my mind.

So the question is :

I have a grand to spend....may stretch to £1100. What do i spend it on??

I want the best bike i can get for the money. Do i go corporate and get Trek'd or specialised or do i go all indie and get a dolan/planet x/ribble.....etc

Please dont say get a Focus Cayo cos as much as l like them they have no Large sizes left.

So opinions please ......£1000 to spend ....which bike? Simple really! ....or it should be.

well - if it were my money - I'd probably go for a ribble nero corsa carbon with whatever groupset you can get for the money (ultegra probably or campag equiv)

Give me £500 and spend the rest on a bike. I will spend the £500 on a new bike myself by the way!!

What bike have you got at the moment? Have you considered just buying some really flash new wheels for instance? Or a new frame?

Thanks guys ....im intested in the Planet X, the Ribble Neo Corsa, the Dolan full carbon and the Be One Mistral....they are my top choices at the moment ....however Wiggle are saying the 08 Focus Cayo will be coming up for pre-order at the end of september so im considering waiting to see what its like.

With regards to my own bike and upgrades ....im riding a 9yr old Carrerra Kraken mountain bike. The wheels are buckled, the running gear makes more noise than my father in law and loses its way even more. The frame creaks like my knees in the morning and its heavier than my pregnant wife so upgrading does not really interest me.

i'd go to condor or bob jackson or mercian and get jigged up, show them the money, then 4 weeks later ride away on perfect bike.

PM'd you again Jason.

The spec ruby is a nice bike....not that light though...and it's more of a sportive machine than roadie machine....still v.good nonetheless.

Steve
My Felt spec compares to that looking at the spec stats there.
