I'm just back from a great day out in York and Leeds. By York and Leeds I mean the National Railway Museum, eight pubs in York and two pub in Leeds followed by a meal at Reds True Barbecue.

The six A4 pacifics were worth the 40 minute queue to get into the museum but the pleasures of the museum were exceeded by the pleasures of a wide range of fine ales and a mountain of meat slapped between two large bun halves in Reds.

My much younger companions were struggling towards the end of the evening.

There's life in the old dog yet.

Eating out later this morning and following that with a beer festival.

Will be on best behaviour Monday night as I tidy the house ready for the return of my wife and kids from a holiday in Corfu.

Taking my dad to the NRM on Tuesday, hope we're not waiting that long to get in!!!

We arrived at twelve preceded by a gazillion other attendees. The thing that slowed the queue down was waiting for folk to leave. The queue had shrunken massively by the time we left and I'd estimate the queuing time to be down to five minutes. At 16:30 you could walk straight in but the museum was roasting hot through being baked by the sun.

It was worth a forty minute wait to seel all six A4s.

We haven't been to the A4's yet, don't know if we'll manage it, as it's only on until mid month, and we'd planned to be in Manchester next weekend...

Those A4's in the roundhouse do look fantastic. I've only seen them on a brief news item, but what a sight!
