A grands worth of composite (Or D+1)

I thought when I spent that much on something composite it would be a carbon bike but unfortunately it's a new front door... The sad thing is... I'm almost as excited about it as I would have been had it been a bike...does that make me a grown-up

A Solidor per chance? Ours were about the same price but we'll worth it. Great solid doors.

Both our front and back door are composite, solid and secure.

It is a Solidor... Don't know exact price as it was rolled up in a house full of windows price... Local sole trader and friend of family I'm guessing the whole job at 3K was half the price of the big boys

The original when we moved in 2 months ago was a tired early upvc door

Well done on having a letter box flap that opens outwards. I shove about a thousand items through letterboxes every week, inward opening flaps are a skin removing hazard that should be banned.

Was it knackered and is there a problem with burglaries in your area. I believe sometimes they do just kick the front door in. Seems an odd amount to spend on a front door.....actually how much is a new UPVC front door?

There is a method to my madness.... The door\windows and boiler being fitted in Feb were all budgeted for in house move and I'm saving separately for a new bike so when the funds magically appear she can't moan (too much) and ear mark it for a big house job.....

It was old and handle was very limp..... Funny thing was I took mrs V to work got back and he was fitting new front door when I got back he explained he had got to our house and forgotten the key I had given him... So he just took the door off anyway in less than 5 minutes

5 minutes? Bloody hell mine are patio doors with porch and lean two in front. Might as well leave the door open.....come to think I generally do.

Odd how they open them . I put an old pvc door on my workshop and they got in . The door was still fully locked but wide open with the five point locking system still in tact . I've been told the bump it open but still cant work out how .

I think it helped that I didn't need it to function as a door again...... IT was only a three point lock on it and I think he did from hinge side....

So is my front door . I replaced it with a modern one for a customer ( because thats what they wanted ) Brought this one back to my workshop and painted it then put it on my house .
