A jolly super ride, 1955 style !!!

found this amazing clip on you tube, a 1955 CTC trip to rugby for a spot of jolly super touring.

being local to rugby I'm familiar with most of the places in the clip. Stanford on Avon (around 9 mins in) is on my regular ride, i cycled past the church this morning

off for a ride in a shirt and tie anyone, don't forget your pipe

The video and its subject matter are frequently referenced when lamenting the loss of the guard's van on many modern trains. If only they were reinstated, then FNRttC could go to some very far flung destinations!

Virgin's efforts are weak, and most trains are a PITA when having to share with wheelchairs, pushchairs and excessively large suitcases. Am I right in thinking that only National Express have a decent cycle storage area?
