A 'like' option

Just wondering, does the forum software allow for a 'Fnaar likes this' type option? Just like on FB (for those who FB) you can 'like' sonmething one of your chums has posted.


Sometimes I would like to acknowledge that I have found a post informative/amusing/considered etc, without writing a reply... would be quite cool, and it might help with the annual awards ceremony.

Norm dislikes this... but only for cheap effect.

I particularly like that this will allow you to support another's position without having to do the "+1" thing, although it could turn every thread, indeed every post, into a vote-fest.

It's a good idea, but in fairness you'd probably have to roll it out as a feature that other users can have as well.

For balance, we'd need a 'like' and a 'dislike' button!

The new software has two options:

1) Proper FB likes - you can link your CC account to your FB account and properly "like" things - which are then published on your FB wall.

2) Reputation system - where you can click to the rep icon to +1 someone's post, and their overall reputation is shown in their profile - handy for giving positive feedback to people who dish out good advice.

There was an issue with the FB integration when I tried it last that blocked CC for a lot of people at work (because it includes a link in the code back to facebook dot com) so I'm not too keen to enable that again at the moment.

However, if enough people think the reputation system would be a useful addition I then I'd consider enabling it.

Maybe put up a poll and see if people like the idea?

Basically any post by Wigsie and McB you just hit "1 star" and they do it back to you in a tit for tat row

Will they be able to tell then because I already gave this 1 star just to see what happened!
