A loud noise coming from my chain

A couple of weeks ago i fitted another chain which was not new but as good as new to my bike because the old chain was worn out . I did not fit new chain rings or freewheel every thing was fine until a few days ago a loud rattling annoying noise started coming from the chain when I was cycling

What is causing the noise ? will it fade away after a while ?

I know very little about chains - other than how to put them on an clean then but when they start to rattle then something is wrong and needs to be fixed

The last thing you want is for a chain to get itself all tied up an jam

I would putthe bike somewhere stable when you can turn the pedals by hand and have a damn good look at what is causing it
Personally I turn it upside down on a blanket but a maintenance stand may be better

Maybe you can see where the rattle is coming from and figure out how to fix it - if not take it to some one who knows what to look for

You've probably misthreaded the chain through the rear mech and got it going over the tab rather than under the tab in the cage.
