Wasn't there some controversy about him borrowing a lyric from a Paul Simon song about wishing on satellites?

It makes a bit more sense than the Kirsty Maccoll version. I kept wondering why she kept singing "I'm just looking for another girl."

Saw Billy in 84 in a local leisure centre. Needless to say the gig was political but hysterically funny. He was supported by "The Three Johns" and Dunvant Male Voice choir whose rendition of "Myfanwy" was so beautiful it brought a tear to the eye.

I work with a woman who used to sing with him. Whilst I admit singing with Billy Bragg is a good claim to fame, she completely missed the fact she is related to someone else I would see as worthy of a mention:

Her: "my cousin cycles, I think he was quite good"
Me: "as in professional?"
Her: "I'm not sure"
Me: "what's his name?"
Her: "Stephen Roche"
Me: "Oh for **** sake!!!"
