Might be of interest to here.
I have had it for around 35years,bought from a house clearance shop, it had been cherished in someones bedroom for years, whoever it was had loved it.
totally original and untouched, even cables, but I have since replaced handlebar grips as the original shock stops perished.
Note spoke lacing, litte QD wing nuts, not shown here still has white blackout paint on rear guard.
Sturmy gear hub, marked K2,even got celluloid trouser clips with it.

Lovely old bike I'd love to ride more, but I'm, near 70 and too many hills here in the west country. Shame there are no eroica type events nearby.
Comments would be appreciated, its not for sale, but I am looking for a period small saddlebag for the little bits of tool etc I've accumulated. also a pair of fork lamp brackets, front and rear.

Thank you all for your kind comments, I loved it at first sight, it had obviously been cherished. Its a lovely upright ride, what was once called "stately progression" describes it perfectly. one feels very dignified on it.
Its what defines old fashioned British quality for me, I see from the cover of that magazine that its 'guaranteed for ever' Some confidence.
£10.2.6d was a lot of money back then, almost a months wages for some.
Sadly I know nothing at all of its history before me.

I am stilll looking for a period tool bag for it to house the period tools and accessories I have, and a pair of clip on lamp brackets.
I have a 4 speed SA hub, dated 1958 I think, and a wicker basket to swap.
I learnt to ride a bike 60 odd years ago and have never been without one, though I am not what you would call a serious rider, no lycra or dropped bars!! and the lanes around here are lethal, even the cycleways, its Chelsea tractor country, especially at weekends; But in my apprentice youth I rode 8 miles each way, in all weathers to work, under one of those PVC capes you don't seem to see any more, and to explore Kent. I grew up near the Holdsworth factory, bike riders aids was the lads mag then.
Had to build my first real cycle from bombsite finds.
It'd be nice if someone would organise some kind of Eroica event in Wiltshire, there are lots of easy flat lanes around Ashton Keynes/Thames head areas, which would be easy on old bikes and old riders.
For hilly country rides I have a bike with a 500cc engine between its wheels:blush:

@CarlP Hmmm, yes, a sensible suggestiom but I'm near 70, trying to tidy up lifes loose ends and get rid of projects I'll never strat let alone finish, as well as maintain the house.
plus my missus would do her nut if I started another project;trouble with being retired around here is I, or rather she, is forever fending off people trying to recruit me for their pet project. I'm not one of those OAPs with time on their hands.

There is a period ride at Benson, not so far away but limited to older stuff than mine.

I've met a few of the chaps at Benson and you'd be more than welcome there, some of their bikes are much more modern than yours, up to the 1980's, you should give them a shout, they'd be all over your bike like a tart on a car bonnet.

I 'll try and get to Benson in that case, if there's tarts there I'd like one all over me not the bike......

Just the other day I said to my wife, I feel like a 20yr old today, she said "you wouldn't know what to do with one and anyway you can't afford one on your pension..."

Its why she refers to my Axminster tool catalogue as my porn magazine, its full of things I want but I can't use or afford.

Some lovely veteran bikes there, and some later ones I spot; makes me wish I had never sold my 20s Golden Sunbeam decades back, a real Marston made Sunbeam that was, not a BSA clone.
