A stoopid question if i may

Do video cams on cycles of this type record like a normal video camera, or are they more like CCTV which can be left on all the time?

The reason i ask is because a CCTV type camera would appeal to me for reasons of capturing chav oiks behaviour in their natural habitat

It depends on the camera. I would have thought that all CCTV cameras need the tapes changing at regular intervals.

The ATC 2000 will do 3.5 hours if I set it to 320x240 (?) and 15fps, so that's enough for me to need to upload or delete the footage once every commute, and then leave it running for the length of my trip.
