I shouldn't worry too much. Frogs and Toads have been known to live for years down drains. Toads in particular can live a very long time in one place.

How'd you know that last part?
I just assumed they were randy. There were hundreds of frogs just sitting on freshly rained on roads. Just sitting and occasionally being run over, once by me. Just sitting and waiting. I assumed it was sex.

Google tells me I am very wrong. It's way outside their mating and migratory seasons, so I guess they were all there waiting for slugs and snails to appear.

And from some familiarity with cane toads, I should not accuse any other amphibians of being randy. Male cane toads will attempt to mate with anything, include long dead roadkill, fish in ponds and mud.

Only if there are worms and other things to eat. It's spiders who can exist for years on apparently nothing but thin air.
If the frog/toad can get down there, them it's reasonable to presume that other smaller creepy crawlies can as well.
Why move when you've got shelter and a ready supply of food?
It's a bit like a pensioner sitting in Wetherspoons.

And actually the frog may be on to something here....all the bugs and creepy crawlies fall down the drain and can't get back out providing a ready food supply. Like those funnel web spiders no?

Actually it could be a funnel web frog. I'm sure I've heard of those
