Its amazing how many abandoned bikes I see in London ,all over the place , tethered to railings etc , I walked by Richmond Station earlier , I counted 9 , usually not expensive ones , bit mad really ,
I was amazed last week right in the centre of Bournemouth there were 2 sets of bike hoops within 100 metres of each other and both must have had 3 or 4 bikes in with severe issues that made me think they were abandoned
If there were loads of abandoned bikes round near me I'd start having daydreams of liberating them & using any salvageable parts to cobble together a working bike or two.
Knowing me though I'd never get round to cobbling the bits together; I'd just end up with a flat full of salvaged bikes.
Ive seen 'notice to remove ' on them some times ,the councils i think are empowered to do so , I saw 4 in Southfields the other week , , one was s Brompton , frame was good , wheels gone ,
