The P45 issue is confusing me as well.
It was a surprise to me as well as I wasn't resigning from the company, just leaving one unit for another within the same company.

I wonder if some wires have been crossed here? If the person who was dealing with your "resignation" didn't know you had been offered a transfer that could well explain the situation you are now in.
There's more info here.Constructive dismissal is a form of dismissal. If you resign from your job because of your employer’s behaviour, it may be considered to be constructive dismissal. You would need to show that:
- Your employer has committed a serious breach of contract
- You felt forced to leave because of that breach
- You have not done anything to suggest that you have accepted their breach or a change in employment conditions
After seven years with a well known mobile phone company, call then lemon, I was made to apply for a new shift pattern under a reorganisation scheme. I couldn't get the one I wanted, mornings so I could ride the long way home. They only offered me late afternoons or evenings. So I resigned. In my last week the training school came round with new recruits to buddy on the phones in order to learn from us experienced types.
I asked the guy I was supposed to buddy what shift he was getting and it was the one I'd wanted. So I refused to buddy him. The reason why he could get the sift I wanted? The would pay him less than 2/3rds of my salary for the same hours.
Big business doesn't give a s**t about customer service, it's all about the bottom line.
Sorry OP you're out!
Today, got a new job from them, was given first refusal, really good salary and hours. I start Monday.![]()
