Glad it was only the bike that was serious.

Firstly contact the CTC or one of the "Cycle Lawyers" in the cycle press,

Secondly (and far too late for you) the London Cycling Campaign does an excellent guide to accidents and their aftermath.

I have put the relevant points on a card and plan to use my phone to record the answers, that way in a minor accident you have photos and don't forget the important things while you are under stress.

Their guide is worth reading no matter how experienced you are!

It's a good idea. Guy in my LBS was saying he was hit by someone and thought he was ok... untill the sore back a few days later! I couldn't even tell you the make and model of what hit me... I think it was a silver 03 plate saxo... but laying looking at the sky not able to look around sort of ruled out seeing any details at all!
