Hello Folks!

I'm researching a potential new product based on Artificial Intelligence to help prevent cycling accidents caused by car drivers hitting cyclists from behind. If people have got a space 60 seconds, please could they fill out the following questionnaire:

Many thanks! (This actually happened to me one day)

Bright coloured cyclists, straight road, escorted by another car.

You can have multiple rear lights. But if the driver is on the phone or not looking anything you design wont help.

I stopped after about question 4. The survey seemed to have morphed away from devices that could stop us getting hit from behind into a more general survey and then back to me doing the thinking instead of the inventor.

@TegwynTwmffat, before having a gander at the survey, would you be willing to say if the device is aimed at cyclists wishing to be avoided being rear-ended. Or for the following vehicle, to stop them rear ending the cyclist?

I'm asking, having been pushed onto a roundabout, by a driver "who could do it" so decided to. Will not fit into the "accident" bracket for the survey.

Ok. You're at the lights, a 942 tonne artic with a crazed loon driver is bearing down and has come into range of the sensor of your bike. Even if the range were 30 feet, at 30 MPH you'll be dead before your synapses give you a chance to react. And if if you have ninja like reflexes, what can you do? Levitate? Activate the ejector seat?

Make anti collision radar and auto braking mandatory in all motor vehicles if you really want to stop people getting rear ended.
