I'm not so sure about that. He wasn't driving while disqualified, and had no previous convictions....

This wasn't the first day, the first evet journey, for this chap on this motorcycle. He'd been doing it a good while before it all went sideways.

He was driving otherwise jn accordance with a licence. He didnt even have that category of licence to be disqualified from in the first place. He was simply unlicenced from the off.

It is very possible he didn't even know that it classed as a motor vehicle once he had modified it.

He knew. Not only did he plead guilty, but if that had genuinely been the case he'd have used it in mitigation, and he didn't.
