Blast, it seems I left the boom out a bit far on my new Fujin, and that's caused me some tendonitis in my left Achilles. No riding for a week or so for me, double blast.

I went to the physio today, got prodded, ultrasounded, and massaged. Also a set of exercises and a regime of hot&cold treatments. Luckily it seems that it's only a minor-ish case so should heal up quickly.

Yeah, I just wished I'd realised sooner. Darth Stuart set it up for me, and I remember thinking that feels slightly long, but I'll try it as he said he likes his 'bents to be on the longer side. Then 20km into my first 100miler I felt pain in the back of the knee, so I stopped and moved the boom in a cm or so, and it stopped. Lovely, or so I thought.

Just one of those injuries that comes on so slowly it's hard to notice it. I've caught it right at the beginning though, so hopefully recovery won't be too long.

After i broke my legs i suffered a lot with Acute Achilles Tendinitis with my left leg as my left leg ended up around half an inch shorter after the break then my right.

I used to get ultrasound and acupuncture sessions on it twice a week, Once all the physio sorted out the inflammation i ended up having to get a special insole made for my left shoe which sorted it out after a while.

But as someone said better to catch it early as it is a right pain (pardon the pun) and not fun if it is not.

 If it don't feel right, it isn't right...you do enough miles to know that....

You should have been out with that tape measure..ah well...fix it quick, and you'll be fine....TBH it's the one thing I dread about getting new bikes or shoes - the faffing measuring it to the nearest MM so all bikes are the same.....one thing I'm not looking forward to when I get my new fixed.

Well Darth Stuart is very knowledgeable on bents, so I was deferring to him. It's also not as easy to define "the right distance" on a bent as you can move around on the lounge seat.

After I nearly broke my right foot in December I did a whole lot of limping using my left foot more, and I think that kicked it off.
