Hi all
i am fairly new to cycling about 5 weeks now , 20 mile round trips to work everyday , in 2 weeks time i am doing a 100 mile charity ride ( action 100 ride ) bristol to chobham , have done a fair bit of training enough to get me by i think and i have a general level of fitness , but what i want to know is are these charity rides full of club riders who will tear off and leave me miles behind , i understand there will be alot of decent riders in this because of the distance but im hopeing there will be some general casual riders , dont want to be embarrassed coming in 2 hours behind everyone else , im doing this ride on my claude butler urban 200,

No need for embarrassment, even if you are last over the finish line.
It's not a race, and it could well be that you have raised more money for the charity than some of these smarty pants who race out in front leaving the others in their dust.

There will be a whole range of people taking part.

There's a few who want to win (although there is nothing there to be won), there's a few more who want to go faster than they did last year, a good few who want to go as fast as they can this year but mainly a lot of people who are loooking forward to enjoying a long ride in the company of other cyclists of differing abilities and interests. I think you'll find it a very sociable and friendly occasion.

Have fun and let us know how you get on
