Address for returning old/out of date passport?

As my previous post and advice recieved ......we went online and typed in the photo code, which was accepted . They "took my £75 so that part is good.
However on line it told me to send the old passport to an address in Newport while the pre-printed envelope we got from the post office has a Liverpool address on it.
I cant find an answer on line and the telephone number is simply a set of recorded information.
Any suggestions

You will probably get the old passport back with the new one. The corner gets cut off so as to render it useless.

Precisely that, I don't think the authorities like old passports, which from the outside look valid, to be lying in drawers around the nation.
