No, I didn't find Narnia. Shame, really. That would have made for a better story. What I did find was a collection of clothes which had been mentally marked for "I'll wear those... One day." After cycling over the last few months it turns out that today is "one day". Not only that but in some of the t-shirts I had room for a friend!

While rummaging through, I found some jeans I don't remember buying or ever wearing. I took one look at them, laughed at how small they were and tried them on. Holy s**t! I got them on! They fit so nicely I plan wear them to a BBQ today.

This little story doesn't really mean much to most reading this. It's one of those things where I'm so damn chuffed I just have to tell someone or I'll explode and that would make too much mess.

Virtual high 5 anyone?

Yeah, go on then!

Well done, MattL! Good effort.

I still have some black Levi 501 jeans, size 32" waist, that I managed to be able to get on 8 years ago.

I can 'almost' get into a 34" comfortably - but I look forward to the day when the 32"s glide on!

And a suit I bought in 1988 still 'almost' fits!

*cough* 32" waist still fits for me....

I've got an immaculate lightweight wool and silk Price of Wales check double-breasted Sidi suit that I bought in the 1980s. It is fantastically light and comfortable and still fits perfectly but at the moment the cut is not fashionable. I'm holding on to it until the day it comes back into fashion, despite the derision of Mrs Gti and a couple of friends.

I'll have the last laugh, you'll see.

Oh yeah?? well, I'm a 30" waist and 32" leg, so nyaa nyaa nyaa nyaa nyaa to you!

I went to Harris for my holidays one year, and whilst there, I bought quite the most amazing red* tweed scarf which I proceeded to wear EVERYWHERE, I liked it so much (I still do wear it sometimes in the winter).

Turns out, it was the same year as Tweed became fashionable again, so whilst fashionistas were paying a fortune for much duller coloured tweed, I had got mine from Leverborough Post Office for about 6 quid! :becool:

* - Yes, it is red, with just about every other colour running through it too, it is *very* cool!
What makes it even more special is that it was a training piece for a woman who was just starting, and I met her at her workshop in Plocropol and the guy who was training her, Donald John, a well known maker in Luskentyre (Donald John of Harris Tweed Nike Trainers fame).

I met the people who made it! how many people can say that about their clothes??

Yeah, but what you forget to mention is that you're only 4' 9" tall and you've got hairy feet! ;)

And you point is..... ??

Seriously though, I am 5'10" and have been the same weight since I was about 15. I still have certain t - shirts from back then commemorating things which I do still occasionally wear (if the next big anniversary of the event in question is taking place, and so on :becool:).
