Just looking at the paper over lunch, and on the back page, saw an advert for a windproof unbrella (you know, they have vents that let the wind out if it gets under the brolly, instead of it blowing inside out.)

Various 'features' were listed - windproof, single press button release, comes with a cover...

And:

"Designed to keep the rain out"

Right.

Has anyone ever seen an umbrella (not a parasol!) that was NOT designed to keep the rain out?

Seems a bit like me putting "Capable of breathing" on my CV...

I once noticed the contents of a bottle of bleach said 'Perseratives'!?

I remember seeing a serving suggestion on a sachet of Saeco instant coffee with a picture of a coffee cup and added boiling water.

I once saw an iron that had on the side :"Do not use while clothes are on the body."

My favourite was a report in "New Scientist" which had a safety label on a kitchen knife.................

I'm still surprised that foodstuffs are not marketed as:-

"FrostyFlakesTM - Contains No Dog Poo" or
"Country Chunky BarsTM - No Bleach In This Snack"

I used to really enjoy the Innovations Catalogue. Full of things you never knew you might never need and desperately advertised so as not to appear so.
