Advice on damp wall please.

Another bonus! My 130yr old house in uk has damp patches when it rains a lot and dry the rest of time.
Good chance this is a one off if no cracking or earlier staining visible...always a risk that structure could br undermined tho...expensive to fix....good negotiating position in my view!

Without a survey I would not even consider buying a property.

A damp patch like that signal a problem.How serious a problem will be reviled by a survey.
But assume it the main sewage pipe for the village or an underground river until proven otherwise.

If the bank think they have you over a barrel then simple. Dont touch with a barge pole.
