Having just returned from a cold,wet tour of Holland I found my layers and waterproofs to be less than affective. Thoughts and advice please.

Thanks for the advice Stu. I reckon you right so tell me wizard what is the best make that does the job of waterproofing one whilst cycling for a day when most of it is raining. My last lot were (they've been binned) about 10 yrs old and not proper cycle wear.
Derrick - Lidle are good if all you want is to get to the shops and the pennies don't stretch too far. They work for a light drizzle over a short period. They don't claim to do anything else.
