Ok,bear with me,this is coming from a MTB rider who knows nowt about road bikes. My new bike should arrive tomorrow and the impatient bugger i am will want to be out on it...tomorrow.
As a rule of thumb what is idealy the correct seat height, tip toes to the road, feet flat etc?
Also any other advice you would feel will help me gain the most enjoyable ride from the right set up really would be greatfully recieved. The bike comes mostly assembled in box form so other than screwing the pedals on and putting it together and actually having something that LOOKS like a bike thats my limit.

Initially set it up to the same BB to Saddle setting as your MTB, and put the saddle to the midpoint on its rails. When you go for your first ride take the appropriate allen keys with you and adjust as you need.

For set up, check if all the bolts have had an application of silicone grease, if not get unscrewing, it saves any jamming up later. Carbon seatpost? that needs greasing too or it could bind up.
