Clearly you have no sense of smell if you think these are the same. Next you‘ll be telling us no one can tell your fake Rolex from the real thing.😉

To clarify my original post - they are cheaper fragrances "based on" far more expensive brands. But they are very long lasting, and smell really good. Of course if you put them next to the branded version then you'd notice the difference, but I'd rather pay £30 for 100ml of something nice, than £100/100ml of something posher and slightly nicer. They also do 5ml testers, pick 5 for £17 IIRC.

This thread appear to be still in the 1980s.
I generally pick up something that smells reasonable from the bargain €20 shelf as I pass thru an airport.

If Halston has been going since the 1970's it must have something going for it.

Not quite as potent as Brut, but it still needs to be used carefully. 😂

Brut 33 with musk, you'll be beating them off with a sh!tty stick.

I love Brut as well. Much like Blue Stratos, I think it's a nostalgia thing. I remember my dad using them when I was young, and I always loved the smell. Some of the cheap ones do smell very nice - my son bought me one from a pound shop once, it smelled very nice but soon faded after an hour

Aftershave is a waste of money. Can't go wrong with a quick spray of Lynx Africa deodorant

The Lynx effect 🙂

usually armani privé's indigo tanzanite for me, "evoking the mysterious aura of the tanzanian sumptuous skies at night", though my main recollection of nights in that neck of the woods is the hippos and various screeching things, also have their sable nuit and a couple of others

armani code is good too, probably mrs s's preference if i let her decide

Ones I've tried recently:

Proraso - Red Sandalwood.
Floïd - The Genuine
Officina Artigiana Milano - Maremeto

All relatively cheap and all pretty good. The first two are not especially long-lasting, but the Maremoto persists for a good while.
