Just saw Age of Stupid at the local cinema. It was a simultaneous premiere of the film at cinemas around the country, but with a video link to the main event at a solar powered tent in Leicester Square. You may be aware it's a docu-drama about climate change. It's a reasonably good watch - more entertaining than I thought it would be, although extremely depressing and sobering at the same time. However, the bit I took notice of was the bikes. Vivienne Westward turned up on a Pashley Paramount, only I suspect it was new, because she seemed a bit unsteady on it and I think I saw a label on it. Pete Posthlewaithe (star of the film) turned up on a single speed bike (not fixed). I was bothered that I did not recognise the make until he said it had been made up of bits. In the film itself, he cycles up to his computer desk on a Raleigh Chopper - a real one with the gear shift and the banana seat. It made me wonder how many sizes Choppers came in because he's quite tall.
