Some do it well, some not so well... Stones are past it, the Who are past it, I wish Weller would stop trying to be experimental and do some decent songs again (and he's turning into Ronnie Wood/Worzwel Gummidge). However, I seem lots of ancient jazzers who can still cut the mustard, we almost expect Blues singers to be on a rocking chair, and so on

Yes let them get on with it if they enjoy it, you don't have to watch or listen to them. no one is going to stop me enjoying myself when i am past my sell buy date, my other half tells me i am.

It's probably a sad comment on the lamentable state of current music that anyone would want to pay a king's ransom to listen
to the hits of yesteryear performed by a bunch of over-the hill rockers, who should have called it a day years ago.

The teenagers of the 60s and 70s aren't yet infirm enough to not be able to get to the O2 arenas to watch these pensionable and past it groups, so the likes of the Stones and McCartney sell out to people who can afford to pay over the odds for a vague resemblence of what they can still remember from their youth.

Won't be long before us baby boomers have shuffled off...

The problem with the old showbiz veterans seems to be that they're very safe bookings which makes for very safe programmes - it keeps them on TV but unfortunately it keeps the TV on them and younger performers, who may be riskier, don't get an equal opportunity.

I think 'die' may mean something different in the biz - from Matinee Idol to Widow Twanky may qualify.
Excruciatingly some. like David Hasselhof don't know they are dead and think white teeth and a sun tan fools ghost watchers.

I think that Bon Jovi might be getting the message that they need to lower their fan loyalty expectations they are having to promote unsold takets at half price through Groupon.

Sunderland
Birmingham and Manchester

Ticketmaster was promoting a lucky dip system where you paid £45 and you got at worst a £65 general admission ticket and at best one the the top premium priced tickets

The American leg off the tour also has Groupon promotions on Bon Jovi tickets.

The thing is I just might be tempted if the offer was that they gave me money to attend a Bon Jovi gig.....
