Hi

I am new to the forum, forgive me if this has been asked before.

I am looking at replacing the headset on my Trek 7200fx hybrid. The guy in halfords said it was a "semi integrated" type. Had a read up on the interweb and am now familiar with the various types but few traders state the type when for sale (either ebay or shops), some do appear to use a code in the ad/listing.

Is there a standard to identify what type of headset it is?

Thanks

Gary

Take it into a proper bike shop, swallow your pride and allow them to sort it for you. It will save you a fortune in wasted trips, phone calls and time, not to mention the possibility of buying the wrong bits and messing them up when trying to fit them, or even worse, wrecking the frame.

Fair enough. If you're not very confident about doing something, you'll know your own abilities better than we do. I'm more confident about these things I guess because I do mechanical stuff all the time.
