Most of these photos are taken on well known hillsides where these jets fly through.I am on a few forums that list the best places to watch such things but i guess it's the luck of the draw if you see anything.

I doubt you get paid to go and take the photos. more like you take the photos and you get paid for royalties etc..
 
I have it on good authority from an ex Tornado pilot & Hawk instructor (out of Anglesey) that it is an F15E Strike Eagle. 48th Fighter Wing, RAF Lakenheath, almost certainly exiting Cad East near Dolgellau.

It's big, noisy, American and being a bloody nuisance in the Welsh mountains.

But not that the pilot knows that. He probably thinks he's flying over Germany.

(And before you all get on your high horses about being anti american, just remember the B1 that was supposed to open the Farnborough Airshow a few years back, but flew instead the length of Blackbushe airfield. Their best air display pilots, flying America's most sophisticated aeroplane were 5 miles out!)

No surprises there.

In that pic the sheep are so scared they are blurred with movement.
