I have a mate who is in to airsoft, this weekend there is a big airsoft thing in the New Forest and one of his team has dropped out, so they have invited me along.

I've never done this before, is it like clean paintballing?

Apart from a bunch of people who look like they would like to be on an SAS snipers convention, so no need to go on about 'wannabes' and 'Walts', is it easy enough to pick up? Has anyone ever done it?

I used to go Airsofting quite a lot a few years back.
It's loads less painful than paintballing and more like a really good game of Army.
I found that cover is key and remembering where the Medic is will keep in the game more.
The BB's sting quite a but that's about all, unless they hit somewhere sensitive. I'd choose a mask over shooting glasses ,if you get the choice, but a hit on the bridge on the nose don't half come keen.

Have a fun day as it's a bit of lark once in the game.
