...but it's not illegal to go over the speed limit on a bicycle, and in this specific case I was *well* below it anyway.

Maz, Magnatom, I'm not convinced on the hiviz - it was a simple case of not looking properly and or misjudging my speed, not of being unable to see me. Bear in mind the recumbent is many times more visible than an upright bike.

It happens - did to me last night while I was driving. Driver starts to turn/emerge from junction with brain not engaged, then wakes up.

Nothing actually happened, nothing to worry about.
