I'm amazed to learn it's sometimes called pop here - wow!!

Strange? It's always been called "pop" here in the Midlands.

<pedantic mode>I live in the States in New England, where they call it soda. However in some other states -notably the mid-west -they sometimes call it pop. Mind you I grew up in Sheffield and it was always called pop there.

So what is it called if it isn't called soda or pop? A fizzy drink? Carbonated?

To get even more off topic, my Mancunian parents often refer to tap water as "corporation pop". FYI.

As for the Airzound - had one but took it off. It's difficult to get an airzound to call someone a f%^$ing c%^*.

Well, I always thought it was a Merkin thing, but I've learnt from this topic!! Must admit I'm somewhat disappointed.

'Cheggers Plays Soda' sounds a little too wanky.

Wouldn't be an Alpine pop wagon, by any chance?

Alpine always used feral looking yoofs to despatch pop to the local estates.

Sounds familiar, you may well be right. Vague memory it was something else possibly Villa but then became Alpine.
