You're quite right @midlife it's 25, but can I find a nice one in Accra? I got a steel one but it's too short. I'm sure I'll find one eventually.
I put a new gear cable on but the change was noisy. I thought I'd try a new chain and that solved it. I tried a new Chinese one and it's very good, cost 10 cedis (£1.40). Also managed to find a (home used) Continental 4000 folder for the rear wheel for 20 cedis to replace the rather perished. I'll look for a front tyre too but 23c & 25c are hard to find.

It looks like 481 to me as well, I'm on my tablet so I zoomed it in and it still looked like 481.

A great-looking bike for not-a-lot of money.
There must be a pipe and tube stockist in Accra.
25mm OD is a common pipe size in steel, stainless steel or aluminium - in a range of wall thicknesses.
It shouldn't be too difficult to make a seat tube.

Thanks, that's a kind thought. I'll try to find some down here but failing that I might just have them. Then it's a question of getting it down here which should be possible after this plague eases a bit.

Still haven’t found a long 25mm seat post. There’s a seller on eBay offering one from Poland, a Shimano 600 one too for £50 so might have to go with that.
