The Spanish research involving more than 15,500 men and 26,000 women found large quantities of alcohol could be even more beneficial for men.

Doctors have been telling anyone who will listen that 7-10 units a week is the best level for men with high chlorestorol for years. You just haven't been listening. Whether or not you want to keep to that range is up to you....
Yup i know, i've seen all the adverts on tv and leaflets littered around Uni as gave most people in this country, the point of my last post was i don't want to be told how much i should drink and i certainly don't want to be made to feel guilty about it! I enjoy drinking, it's an important part of my social life, my parents have been drinking their whole lives and drink a considerable amount at weekends (more now their retired) and they're fine so whatever happens, happens. I just wish they would let us live our own lives instead of nudging in, gradually more as each year passes.

That's two pints of lager in total between 6pm and midnight on a Friday Night.

Who makes up this bollocks?

Christ knows. I've had two pints since getting home from work an hour ago, and I'm about to go and pour myself a small Macallan. Am I worried about binge drinking? Of course not.

I have a different perspective from the rest of you fine people.
I am now virtually a teetotaller, for the past year or more. This is not an issue of principle here, but a simple statement of the fact that I don't really like the stuff. And more than a unit or two sometimes gives me palpitations. So, while I take on board that there may be some truth in the advice set down here, I am cautious and a bit reluctant.

Anyway, I thought that earlier medical advice on this front was mainly focussed on red wine - and pointed to other beneficial constituents present in the wine, aside from the alcohol.

I can drink a modest amount of red wine with a meal: about 2 units, without adverse effects (but of course I would never drive afterwards). But we tend to do so only when visiting France (and always local wine). Perhaps we should change our habits here in UK?

Tres bien!

Been there, done that (just the one glass, though!).

Wonder how many takes it took!

And I'd like to have seen the footage of him at intervals of 3, 6, and 12 hours later!
I reckon he was wankered before he started the video. I could hardly make out a word he said. He might as well have been speaking a foreign language!

Bugger. I've got a real taste for beer since I gave up the fags, but I didn't realise that a couple of cans of London Pride would make me stop reading clearly.......
