Just fed up with getting dazzled by selfish road users. It is not as bad as a car with full headlights on but i expected better from cyclists. After all we are always going on about how superior we are to drivers.

Surely it is okay to have bright lights on a bike, just point them down and not into people's faces?

I never did much night riding, but have experienced being dazzled by super-bright rear lights, which do tend to shine in your face.

I got one last time too. Well, I got three, one each for me and Arch and one as a work torch.

The bike ones I have attached using an old D lock bracket that came with a cheap D lock, cut in half to make two mounts, one each.
It could be a semi permanent mount if it were cable tied on, like my other torch based lights.

The only thing is the beam is circular and so I have stuck a bit of tape over the top 1/3 of the lense to make a dipped beam. That works well.

The only other thing is that last weekend the lense unscrewed while I was riding at night and fell off in the road. Fortunately it survived the drop and Arch's owl like night vision found it for me. It is now screwed back on tight and I check it for security when I use it.

Following up the comments about batteries, what sort of life do the batteries give when used on full power steady light. I am referring to the Aldi or Ebay equivalents.
