It looks remarkably similar to the E-Prance camera I have just fitted and costs the same except the Aldi one comes with a 32gb memory card whereas I had to buy mine separately. Mrs SJ wants one for her motor so I'll get this one.

Yes. But why record your journeys? Is it just to provide evidence to insurers when you have a prang? Surely the chances of that happening outweigh the inconvenience of charging camera, remembering to switch it on etc. Just wondering why people have them.

The amount of dangerous drivers out there have made dash cams the must have even when you are driving just like many cyclists use them on rides. Its a sad state of the times i'm afraid. We were nearly wiped out by a speeding, red light jumper yesterday,some sub-humans do not give a toss about anyone else but themselves.

How did the dashcam of assist you? did it give you prior warning he/she was going to do it?

Blimey, you make it feel like a miracle I've lived this long. I've been driving 30 years or so. I don't recall a single instance of downright reckless driving. Stupid driving, yes, but nothing that I would consider to be endangering to my life as another motorist

Dashcams are very popular in Russia apparently due to the prevalence of people jumping in front of cars and feigning injury for compensation. Remember the meteor that was filmed in Russia? That was on dashcams

Its scary in sunny Bolton, if its not red light jumping which seems to be the norm in this town then its young clowns in high powered Mercs/Audi's/VW's driving as if its their right to do so with no fear of the law or what they can do to others. The red light jumper was just one we came across....the two little boys racing their daddies Merc CLS and BWM X-5 was just another on our journey to my daughters riding lesson. Standards have dropped dramatically and I see it getting worse.
In the 30 years of driving, it has become more and more a chore which is a shame because along with cycling, I do enjoy my old cars. I will just keep my cycling, spider senses switched on all the time whilst driving which seems to keep me safe !

Not got one, just saying they are becoming the norm for many motorists (and cyclist) who could possibly become victims of these idiots who do not give a damn about anyone else. Sad state of the times i'm afraid

The evidence from these cameras can and does get dangerous drivers removed from the roads

There are at least half a dozen that are either no longer driving or unemployed because of my GoPro

... and yes it does provide protection.

You would be surprised how many "left hooks" and close passes are abandoned when they see the camera
