... is not windproof.

Riding into work today a gust caught me, ripped the zip right open exposing my t-shirt underneath (nothing embarrassing just bloody cold!). Stopped, tried to rezip it, realise the zip mechanism is knackered.

Better still, it's jammed at the bottom.

Headwind + 'windproof' jacket + jammed zip = sailboat. Gusts would whip into the now burgeoning jacket and buffet me back a good half metre every 30 seconds or so.

Anyone else experience similar zip nightmares?

(p.s. going to take this back tomorrow and get a replacement!)

bad luck, I have a few cheapo Lidl things that have been quite good to me. Never been to Aldi though.

On the plus side you can now use it as a sail to get home in record time.

I have a couple of last year's Aldi tops and they have YKK zips = no problem. Take it back if faulty.

I'm lucky in that my wife is a keen on sewing (her machines cost as much as my bikes) - so I usually get her to make me base layers, and repair stuff I've broken

Nearly bought one of the jackets- decided against it as I have two cycling jackets already- but snagged a pair of winter cycling trousers & Full finger cycling gloves which are amazing vfm- wish I'd bought two pairs now!
