I went to Aldi this morning to get some winter gear. I got there about 10.50. The cycling shelves looked like a rather aggressive group of determined jumble sale regulars had been through it. I needed jacket, jersey, trousers, shoes and gloves. I got a pair of shoes and could have had the last glove had I wanted it but it was a left hand. Is it always like this? Will they be stocking up in the near future?
Looks like it's jeans and anorak again tomorrow.

I couldn't get today. Hope there are a couple of jerseys left, in my size, tomorrow.

No they don't usually re-stock. What they have they put out (usually). It depends where you are as to whether it is always like that. A local Lidl to me had some workstands 2 weeks after they had come out, other branches and they would all have gone in the first 5 minutes.

No - no re-stock. Go and find another store.

I have 4 stores near home work - the store near home takes ages to sell out of cycling kit, which is no bad thing for me !!

I couldn't get to Aldi till mid-afternoon and they were already out of just about everything. I don't remember everything getting hoovered up quite as quickly as this time. I think this cycling thing must be becoming popular.

From memory, Aldi do 2 cycling specials a year - spring and autumn. I might be wrong but I think that's it as far as Aldi is concerned until 2013.

And i wont get there till tomorrow (providing a cheque clears) so there's probably no chance for me getting the things I wanted

I called in to Plymouth Aldi at lunch-time today............(first time I've been to an Aldi since about 2002......and some of the stuff I bought then is still going strong!)

Good Lord-It was like a WI Jumble Sale in there. Kit strewn everywhere, security guys on the doors with semi-automatics, fights in the car-park and a particularly ugly scene over by the cheese counter..............

....but I came away with one of most things:smile: !!

I daren't look in the (big) lucky bag to see what I've ended up with!

I'll report back later when I've plucked up the courage to see how many pairs of pink cycling jackets and ladies fit tights I've bought by mistake?

Can't remember the last time I had so much fun shopping in a shop! Beats on-line buying anyday. My adrenalin was pumping with the thrill of the chase.

How has everyone done?

Best

If you want the best choice, you have to there waiting for the doors to open at my local Aldi.

Was there are 07:55 ready, first at the baskets and had 2 pairs of winter trousers, one pair of socks, one pair of gloves and a shower towel before you could as "Aldi cycling specials".
I got a med n a lge pair of trousers and as in my cycling shorts n trainers, off with the trainers and tried the med pair on... Cushty.
Turned to swap the lge to med and none left! 3-minutes at most AND I and to barge in through two ranks of pensioners to even get back in

8.15 i was in but not the first.
gent had £100 worth in his trolley and lady had bulging basket of stuff for a lucky husband. 2 more cyclists attacked the pile of jackets as i left with the nice cycling jacket, merino jumper and those little LED lights. Very restrained of me, mainly cos mrs tribnanjules was waiting in the car
