anyone know if the winter cycling trousers/jackets are any good in heavy rain. went out for a ride in a shower today with it and i kept dry but its described as water repellent so will it start letting heavy rain in.

just wondering if i need to get a n extra layer for the horrible welsh weather :d

Very little left (clothes-wise - plenty of the 'hardware' left) when I went in at about 4pm. Couldn't be there first thing because I am expected to attend a thing called work.

Managed to get a pair of gloves and a merino shirt.

I might have a trip over to Sutton Coldfield tomorrow - decent chance of them having stock left because they're too posh for ALDI over there.

I may be shot down in flames over this. You get what you pay for and yes Aldi stuff is cheap but then again it is not very good quality at all, about as bad as the cycling kit from sports direct.

Found in the Yorkshire hills ...
Came away with winter trousers - to be used on the commute.

All of the rest weren't better than what I have so, for once, I showed restraint.

Oh, and I wanted a tri suit - but they'd only got women's. Maybe men don't do tri's?

I got there by 6:30. They were all out of winter jackets and small/medium arm warmers so I had to get the large/xl ones but they were fine with small/medium leg warmers which I also got. They were full stocked with the green water proof jackets, toolkits, locks, lights, socks but only had one waterproof trousers left. All in all, I came away with what I wanted except the bib trousers which were all out. All in all, lights, arm/leg warmers, socks and a lock for £28, not bad!

In my local area the smaller sizes of clothes are more or less gone by the end of the first day, whilst extra large sizes and the other items (tool kits, lights, locks etc) will stay around for days.

got me a blue winter jacket, blue cycle jersey, winter trousers and some of those light-up leg and arm band things....it all seems really good quality clobber....the warnings re the zip on the jacket were correct, first jacket i put on the zip pulled apart from the bottom and had to be removed over my head!...jacket seems good and i like the thumbs holes on the jersey....£40 well spent!

Having used both SD and Aldi kit, I reckon that the Aldi stuff is of a higher quality. Obviously not as good as your expensive kit, but for the price it's great and will normally last a year or so.

winter cycling jacket, - i got the blue/black one, the blue material was water proof, the black material wasnt , it was drip proof but under the tap it let water in - ill see how it works in the rain

winter cycling trousers -let water in when dripped and under the tap

ive got water proof trousers and top so ill keep them in my bag or get a saddle bag for them.

i picked up the xl water proof trousers from aldi but they're too baggy, ill try with trouser clips and see if that helps 9anyone want to swap for large ).

I'll report back later when I've plucked up the courage to see how many pairs of pink cycling jackets and ladies fit tights I've bought by mistake?

Many a true word said in Jest ! not sure if its my eyes or Aldi's lighting but i went for the red shirt and jersey but when i got home i seem to have ended up with the pink and grey shirt and jersey  i did manage to get the Correct rain jacket - winter trousers - a couple of pairs of socks and a set of micro fibre towls though ...
