I didn't tick or untick this box either, and its fixed for me now, even although I still haven't made any changes.

Hmmmm, I ticked the box last night, and now it does get rid of those stubborn notifications that I'd otherwise have to cancel manually. But it's still not a complete fix, as I now have to search through all of the notifications to look for post replies.

I shall un-tick the box again and see what that does.

It does become a pain after a while.

It does... Unticking the box just turns of ALL the notifications. So I still have to hunt for the replies.

This is across two different laptops and two OS of wildly differing vintages.
