Well for the first time in at least 10 years me and the other half were not together in bed , i wont bore you with the reasons .

But what i couldnt understand was that i still only slept on the same amount of space as her half still freshly made .

I think it's normal.
Mr K works shifts so there are some nights when I have the bed to myself and he has the bed during the day but we always sleep in the same place. When I go to my parents, I still sleep on the same side as I do at home.

Did you have the problem I have when I've got the bed to myself? The bed seems to big.

I often go to an empty bed and wake with three other people a few hours later. Even in that first hour or so when I'm alone I still stick to my allocated 14 inches (of the 200cm wide bed (when did beds become metric?)).

I am firmly signposted towards the spare bedroom whenever I've had a beer as Mrs Slowwww knows that I'll be snoring and I know she'll be using her sharp elbows to try to stop me.

Pretty much a win:win as the kids never work out that I'm in the spare bedroom and so go into Mrs Slowwww and wake her up in the morning, giving me the opportunity to sleep off the previous night's excess!

Well, for more than the 3,650th time in over 10 years since I optimistically bought a Super-king-sized double bed, me and all of the potential other halves were not together in bed, and I won't bore you with the reasons either!

As usual, the vacant other half of the bed was strewn with cycling magazines, my phone, a tablet computer, earphones, my reading glasses, a couple of books, and a notebook and pen in case I had a money-making idea in the middle of the night (I never do!) ...

On overseas business trips I always sleep on the same side of the bed and often don't even disturb the other side at all. Some boutique type hotels do pile lots of silly cushions on beds though, so they have to be stacked up somewhere.
