in thinking that folk who walk around wearing their sunglasses perched on the tops of their heads instead of the bridge of their noses are nobbers?

I met two prime examples yesterday. They were occupying seats in the cycle bay on a train and when I indicated that it was a designated cycle space, one grumbled and flounced down the carriage into an empty seat. His mate stood his ground and pointed out that if I moved a piece of luggage my bike would fit because he wasn't moving anywhere soon. I moved the luggage and parked my bike in the space resting the front wheel against his cream chinos. He recognised that he'd lost, swore, and joined his mate further down the carriage.

I could have understood their behaviour if they'd been beer swilling yoofs wanting to face off some authority but these were 45 year old nobbers who should know better.

Yeah nobbers. Seen a few folks resting glasses like this, utter nobberishness - I adopt this method occasionally as it annoys the hell out of Mrs 3BM.

I often perch mine on my head. When I need to wear them for outside, but I'm inside for a spell. It's the best way to not wear them over my eyes for a bit, but not lose them.

If they hadn't been wearing their sunglasses like that, you'd have picked on their trousers or something else inconsequential. Nobbers are nobbers. No doubt, they thought you were a nobber for riding a bike.

These chaps would have worn sunglasses in the dark.

As for their sartorial inelegance.....

And to clarify the original post they were only two examples of the gamut of nobbers with sunglasses on their heads. Nobbishness has a sliding scale and I'd not expect to find you placed on it Arch.

My wife had to thread a needle straight after coming in from the garden yesterday and put on her cheapo reading glasses to do so, with her sunnies on top of her bonce.

I found the look suggestive of both a vast intellect and a certain feminine charm. It helped that she was concentrating jolly hard to get the thread in the eye of the needle.

It reminded me of why I proposed all those years ago and I poured her a cold drink.

If other people do these things, it is ghastly. But when it is family it is cool, casual, effortlessly stylish and attractive.

When driving, I used to hang my sunnies from my ears and wear them under my chin for tunnels and tree cover. These days, there is no room. My chin seems to be lower than it was. God is a bastard!
Is there anything wrong with resting sunglasses on top of your head when indoors?
I'm a nobber and really bad for walking around work with my sunnies on my head. No for any reason other than I forget that they're there for at least the first two hours of the day.

Its funny when they leave them on their head then go searching for them...

I did that recently in a post office. Clicked my glasses into my helmet, did my shop, couldn't find the glasses, went outside and back again to ask if anyone had seen them, a customer said they're in your helmet. What a nob.

By the way. Don't be a nobber and wear sunglasses indoors only blind people do that.

If there on there heads on a train what's wrong with that as they're unlikely to need them? Sounds like its nothing to do with the sunglasses and more there behaviour!!
