Am I correct to ride central in this case?

25+? I would, that's plenty quick enough not to want to have to worry about manholes and drains and pot holes

not to say that that speed is appropriate mind

But why are you filming yourself?
If so, I'm interested in how he can be in a car and on the bike at the same time!

I think it looks fine to ride central there. The lane seems narrow enough that anyone overtaking should change lane.

What's wrong with it? Looks like a road designed for at least 30mph if not 40.

I wasn't filming, a work colleague filmed it to moan at me in the office!

If I'm in a position where I can keep up with traffic or ride at or just below the speed limit then I ride centrally where I'm more likely to be seen and treated as part of the traffic.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
If your doing 25 + in a 30 zone your keeping up with traffic at the legal speed , tell them to do one .
I normally ride in the inner wear track of the car wheels at normal pace and pull out centrally at pinch-points.

^^^^ This.

If you were to ride closer in would your colleague have tried to squeeze past with cars coming the other way?

Yes, as they did at the end of the video

By that time though you had moved closer into the kerb.

Still, the driver should look at himself first and give you a bit more room.

Yeah, it was a bit close, could've used whole of other lane, but at a slower speed I wasn't too bothered by it. It was only when I saw the video from his pov and saw how close he was that I was bothered
