Amazing lights.

I have a set of Eurolight front lights.

They are on this link:

Mine are the EL-187 set.

They are not the brightest but they can cause oncoming car drivers to complain
They do look like you would expect sub £40 lights to look.
I think they are only available from Eurolight.

But.
On Wednesday I rode to work and back using the lights for the entire journey which is about one hour in each direction.
When I arrived home I decided to discharge and recharge the lights so I left both lights on.
This was at 18:00 on Wednesday
Bear with me now I'm getting to the point.
I have just looked out of the window now and I can still see them working (this is at near 00:00 on Thursday)
This means that give or take a few minutes the lights have been working for 32 hours with not much sign of fading!

I think that Eurolight may have put a small power station in place of the battery and not told anyone

Latest update on run time.

As of 08:00 this morning the lights were still working, so thats now up to 40 hours!

Show us a video then! I'd be interested to see what they are like on unlit roads/paths.

I used to use Eurolights, the LED/xenon ones, two of those on the handle bars was enough for country roads and confusing cars in to waiting for me around parked cars cos they thought I was a motorcycle I guess.
They also had a very helpful customer service and online shop.

No, I have no connection with the company other than I bought these lights from Argos about eighteen months ago.
When I first got them home I noticed that one of the brackets was badly moulded, but Argos replaced this for me from another set.
They came without any instructions at all.
Despite the appearance on the photo they are both front lights, but it illustrates the main problem in common with most LED lights that they are a bit directional and only have a narrow beam.

I'd been using a front light from Decathlon for several years which was crap as it switched itself off, design fault, when I went over certain bumps. Anyway 11 months ago I received an unexpected windfall and bought a Hope Vision 1 light which cost me £70. It has been the worst light I have ever had. It switches off without any notice rather than fading. I have tried several different sets of AA cells and several battery chargers but it still defeats logic. I contacted them and htey sent me a new battery holder but it hasn't helped. Spending more does not mean you always get a better product.

At £40 that's expensive to sume other offerings Lights from Exposure/Hope Ayup all offer much better £ per light output. A Hope Vision 1 at about £75 will blow the Eurolight away.

That said, it's a better light than many folk use, and very good run time

As covered on some recent topics about the Hope lights, their one main fault is that when the batteries get too discharged, the light switches off completely. You have to make sure any rechargeable batteries are first fully discharged and properly charged up using an intelligent design type charger which is able to monitor the specifics of each cell. Provided this is done, I've found 2800mAh batteries do perform in line with Hope's estimates for usage.

If you have one duff battery in the pack of 4 which is providing a lower voltage/current than the others, then the Hope can't make use of the full set properly.
