NZ next, big drop in temperature but weather not looking too bad for the next few days on the east coast. Some frosty mornings maybe if they're setting off early.

Got to give it to them, they are going for it.
In contrast to the other thread which although ultimately a different goal, shows their persistence and determination!

It is the nature of record attempts. They will be on the busier main roads. Australia is also like America. Hostile attitude to anyone who impedes their motor car.

You mean worse than the UK?

Checking out any social media thread where bicycles are concerned & the nonsense posted there is ridicous.

And the way these clowns interpret or make up the law is just laughable.

Sadly I saw some TikTok videos from horse riders on the road. I'm not talking about tarmac layers, I'm talking about clearly horse owners in the countryside. The comments coming in from these morons over what they'd claim they'd do where the horse is concerned is just ridiculous. Made me wish they'd get a horses hoof introduced to their head to kick some sense in to it.

They don't seem to have a bad time of it, other than punctures. The road train drivers seem to have been friendly enough and the two of them have waved at them when stopped for a break, but having a truck that size roll past you on a regular basis can be unsettling, and they won't be using the aero bars due to the draft off the trucks. Main roads are better for getting a bit of drafting going on, boosting your speed. It's why lots of time trials are on busy roads like the A1.

Yes, but social media threads don't really reflect the majority of the public. THey are excessively polarised, with mainly strong negative opinions being expressed, on almost anything.
