He is heavier himself, and probably carries the heavier part of their load, so more pressure on the sharp objects trying to get through the tyres.

Tracker showing them now in Anchorage, Alaska, so the transfer has gone to schedule by the looks of it.
Still no podcast update since Singapore though.

They have officially past halfway 9000 miles. Looks like spectacular riding in Alaska.
