A confluence of 3 major routes into the city with two rabs next to each other and one has a double lane width.
Been notorious for over 40 years and the council will do nothing about it as there are only "Monroe collisions"!

I think the other major thing which hugely affects cyclists is the massive under-perception of how fast cyclists can be travelling. I normally travel at speeds between 15-20 mph (much less up hill mind!) and I think motorists pulling out at junctions and RABs see us coming and think "Oh I'll have loads of time to squeeze out" and then are surprised at how rapidly we have approached.

Got nearly taken out by a car coming out of a junction from my right yesterday morning , either he did not give a monkeys or he underestimated my speed as its slightly downhill and i can keep up with the traffic .On mini roundabouts turning right i have the same problem whether i am on a bike or in a car as people just try to squeeze through even though i am on the roundabout and turning right, they are to busy daydreaming/on the phone/ do not give a feck.

The thing that puzzles me is where does this perception that we don't move much above walking pace come from?
I had two minor incidents last year, nether caused me any problems but it was obvious that both times the drivers had seriously under estimated my speed. Both times I was using primary just before a junction where I was going straight on, both times the driver used a gap in oncoming traffic to pass me, both times the driver was turning left and arrived at the turn travelling too fast, both times the driver did an emergency stop to try and get the speed down but was still travelling too fast for the turn and both nearly turned the car over doing the left turn, two different junctions, two different drivers, both times I backed off a bit and let them get on with it.
