An observation on north Manchester bike commuters

As a fellow N Mcr commuter I find my distrust based on being taken out/no indicating etc.....I glance back often to make sure I know what's coming and a visual cue to the driver, I've spotted them.....makes no difference.
Now the canal has been improved through Mills Hill I've converted the Surly into flat bar and that's now my route...I just have to avoid going in the drink, again.

I've noticed that things are very similar in Coventry, when I'm in the car hanging back and overtaking cyclists safely does seen to confuse some of them. If I'm treated like that when I'm on the bike I'll wave thank you to the driver as they go past. The one thats irritating both on the bike and in the car is the lurker, the one that wont come past even when its obviously safe to do so. When on the bike it just makes me nervous, I'm sat on the bike wondering whats going on and concerned that someone behind the lurker is going to do something silly, in the car the driver thats come up behind me at pace then slowed down to just sit behind me almost on my boot lid without coming past again has me wondering whats going on.
