I've just installed the Anbox Android emulator on my laptop, which runs Lubuntu.

Does anybody know where there are any Android applications that I can download and run please?

Alternatively, does anybody know of an Android emulator that will let me directly retrieve Google or Apple apps?

Thanks - I'll have a look at Android-x86.

If I'd read that article I'd have known Anbox does not support Google Play and I wouldn't have bothered with it. I only chose it because you could install it from the command line without making a boot disk.
