Is it an ancient monument?

Modernity is in the eye of the beholder?

I spent almost a day in the Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim

Most of it is a modern restoration of the more original church

However it looks and feels authentic and traditional

One of my favourite places, whenever I'm up there, I'll go sit near the packhorse bridge, down at Dob Park, & lose myself in the tranquillity, but imagining the times when the pack-horses were lead across it
Just lost part of a local packhorse road. Contractors dug it up & removed the stones.

There is a Roman road nearby, along with the remains of a camp.

There's standing stones at Churn Milk Joan.

Been inside Newgrange a few years ago now. As for old graveyards, what's wrong with them? A fair few of the Irish ones are now online, whilst one or two British ones have webcams!!

Nothing weird about that!

Hmm -or maybe we're both weird?

Anyways - Glendalough. Burial place for four Coptic monks from Egypt, hence the distinctively different monastic traditions in the Celtic churches; very different from the Roman church. Sad that it's not acknowledged .

But ..........that wee snippet of hidden history makes a special place even more extraordinary.
