"Lotta people don't have much food on their table...
....but they gotta lotta forks, and knives...
....and, they gotta cut sump'n."

You see, it doesn't rhyme, it doesn't scan, and it's bad grammar :-)

I dreamed I saw St. Augustine
Alive as you or me
Tearing through these quarters
In the utmost misery
With a blanket underneath his arm
And a coat of solid gold
Searching for the very souls
Whom already have been sold.

"Arise, arise", he cried so loud
With a voice without restraint
"Come out ye gifted kings and queens
And hear my sad complaint
No martyr is among ye now
Whom you can call your own
So go on your way accordingly
But know you're not alone".

I dreamed I saw St. Augustine
Alive with fiery breath
And I dreamed I was amongst the ones
That put him out to death
Oh, I awoke in anger
So alone and terrified
I put my fingers against the glass
And bowed my head and cried.
The lyrics are beautiful, though I'm in the "wouldn't listen to him by choice" camp.

I'm not his largest fan but I have to admit that he has produced some fantastic work...

...which is often best appreciated when covered by another artist.
:bravo:

I prefer the other Dylan ]

Or that other Thomas, Ronald Stuart.

We met
under a shower
of bird-notes.
Fifty years passed,
love’s moment
in a world in
servitude to time.
She was young;
I kissed with my eyes
closed and opened
them on her wrinkles.
‘Come,’ said death,
choosing her as his partner for
the last dance, and she,
who in life
had done everything
with a bird’s grace,
opened her bill now
for the shedding
of one sigh no heavier than a feather.
He's a really good DJ. Probably even better than Iggy Pop.
Have heard them both doing their shows but only a couple of times and yes they are good both playing things you would never be aware of if you didn't tune in to them.

Can't sing, can't play guitar but he can write a bloody good song.

Listen to his later stuff, 1997's Time Out of Mind is probably him at his very best, one of my favorites along with Blonde on Blonde from 1966.
